Pick a town. Own its mornings.

MailerDot writes and sends your town’s daily newsletter. As its operator you hold the town: your business at the top of every edition, nobody else can claim it, and half of every listing MailerDot sells in it, after fees.

You don’t run the newsletter. You hold the town.

  • The spotlight is yours. Your business at the top of every edition — your line, your link, changed whenever you like, reviewed before it runs.
  • Listings sold in your town pay you. MailerDot sells and screens every listing; half of each sale, after fees, is yours. Nothing to sell, nobody to chase.
  • The audience is yours to grow. A public page that signs readers up, an embeddable card for your own site, and the numbers behind both.
  • One operator per town. Nobody else can claim it while you hold it. Take one town or twenty, all on one dashboard.

Straight answers

Do I write it?

No. The edition is written and sent automatically, every morning. Operators never write, edit, or schedule content.

What is my actual job?

Getting your town to read it. Tell people it exists — local groups, the chamber, your own customers, your own site — and the list grows. MailerDot does everything else: the edition writes and sends itself, listings are sold, screened and published by us, and billing and support are ours. The console gives you a public signup page, an embeddable card for your own site, and stats on where readers came from.

Why does growing the list matter?

It is what a listing in your town is worth buying for. A local business pays for placement in front of readers, so a town people actually read is a town with something to sell — and half the net of every listing MailerDot sells there is yours. Be clear-eyed about the other side of it: the lease follows the audience too, $10 a month to 1,000 readers and $5 more for each additional 1,000, so a bigger list costs a little more to hold. We make no claim about what any of it adds up to; how many listings a town sells is up to the town, and it may be none.

Who approves the listings?

MailerDot does. Nothing publishes itself, and nothing waits on you: every submission is screened before payment is taken, a person decides the ones the screen cannot, and nothing goes live until payment clears. You do not approve, edit, or remove listings. Paid placement is always labelled as paid, and the standards are on our acceptable use policy.

Do I earn from the listings?

Yes — 50% of net listing revenue for your town, after payment-processing and split fees, on every listing sold while your lease is active. That covers both products: event listings ($10 and $25 flat) and business directory listings ($10 and $25 flat for a 30-day run). Towns can sell listings before anyone holds them; your share starts the day your lease does. The split is distributed by our payment processor, Creem, straight to your own verified Creem account — your console shows the running estimate, and Creem’s ledger is the record. How many listings a town sells is up to the town: it may be none, and we make no projection about it.

What if my town has no subscribers yet?

Most towns start at zero. The first edition goes out the day someone subscribes, and the price stays at $10 until the town passes 1,000 readers — an early town is the cheapest one to hold, and the one with the most room to grow.

When does the town become mine?

The moment your first payment clears — like a domain name, it goes to whoever completes payment first. An unpaid checkout holds nothing: walk away and the town stays open to everyone, instantly.

What happens after I pay?

Your console opens the moment payment clears. Write your spotlight there — it runs at the top of every edition once it has been reviewed. If the town already has readers, the next morning’s edition goes out as usual; if it has none, the first edition goes out the day someone subscribes, and the town’s public page and the embeddable card are how you get that first reader. Your share of listings sold starts the same day, and the console shows every edition, the subscriber count and every listing as it happens.

What if the town grows?

Your price follows the audience: $10/mo covers the first 1,000 subscribers, then +$5 for each additional 1,000. A tier change takes effect at your next billing cycle — never mid-cycle — and we email you when one is scheduled. If the count falls back before your renewal, the increase is cancelled automatically.

Can I export the subscribers?

No. Aggregate numbers only — no addresses, no CSV. You cannot import a list either, which is what protects deliverability for every city on the platform.

What if I cancel?

Cancel yourself from the dashboard, any time — it runs to the end of the period you have paid for, then the town returns to MailerDot and keeps publishing. Subscribers stay with it, and it re-lists at whatever its audience is worth then — not what you were paying.

Is this a franchise or a business opportunity?

No. It is a software subscription — $10 a month per town, month to month, cancelled from your dashboard whenever you like, with no joining fee, no royalty, and no minimum term. The listing share is a fixed percentage of sales MailerDot itself makes at published prices: you sell nothing, recruit nobody, and pay nothing to participate, and we make no claim, promise or projection about what a town will earn you. What you are buying is the console, the exclusivity and the placement — not an income. Nobody buys ad space from you either: the only paid placements are the listings MailerDot sells, screens, and labels itself.

Which town do you want?

One operator per town. The search shows what’s still open.
