Fifteen years ago, Helltown Brewing quietly poured its first pints from a tucked-away mechanic’s garage on Henry C. Frick Street in Mount Pleasant. Named after the historic coal-mining boomtown moniker once given to the borough, the brewery set out to prove exceptional craft beer belonged in the Laurel Highlands. Though Helltown has since expanded its distribution footprint across Western Pennsylvania, the original garage continues to anchor the operation as a hometown hangout. Tomorrow, the taproom marks a decade and a half of brewing with an all-day anniversary celebration. The festivities kick off at noon with specialty draft releases, food trucks, and door prizes, before regional rock favorite Abacus Jones takes the stage for an evening performance at 6:00 PM.
