Expanded Classroom Supply Hub Opens on Applegate Drive

Spring Hill, FL · October 13, 2026

Give your headlights a minute to cut through the heavy morning fog today — there is plenty worth venturing out for once the mist burns off.

The Lead

The Hernando County Education Foundation has completed its transition into a permanent center at 5404 Applegate Drive, providing a larger footprint for programs supporting local public schools. The facility gives the nonprofit crucial extra square footage for its Tools 4 Schools depot, which supplies county teachers with complimentary classroom materials, books, and basic essentials throughout the academic year.

Beyond supplies distribution, the expanded site consolidates the district's Take Stock in Children mentorship sessions and classroom grant workshops into dedicated meeting spaces. Staff spent the weekend sorting incoming inventory into new shelving units, clearing room for daily donation drop-offs. Teachers will be able to schedule their first fall shopping appointments through the foundation’s portal starting next week, with volunteer sorting shifts resuming Monday.
