Landmark Waterfall Temporarily Goes Dry for a Makeover

Spring Hill, FL · September 15, 2026

If you drive past the entrance waterfall this morning, don't worry about the dry spillways—it's just in the middle of a much-needed scrub and shine. You will want to pack an umbrella along with your morning coffee, too.

The Lead

The cascading waters at the corner of Spring Hill Drive and Commercial Way have gone quiet, but not for long. County facilities crews are halfway through a three-week overhaul aimed at restoring the 5281 Spring Hill Drive entrance landmark to fighting shape.

Alongside trimming overgrown palms and clearing a dead pine, workers are pressure washing years of mineral buildup off the stone tiers before applying a protective masonry sealant. The centerpiece of the refresh is the oversized metal lettering: local outfit Clean Pro Motor Sports donated labor and materials to strip and powder-coat the town name in durable brilliant white.

County officials expect the pumps to roar back to life before month’s end once the masonry finishes fully cure and crews securely re-anchor the refurbished sign letters.
