$5 Million Gift Anchors New Forest Oaks Health Center
Spring Hill, FL · September 12, 2026
Saturday mornings have a way of easing into gear around here, whether you are heading out early for the model train exhibits or lingering over a second cup of coffee.
The Lead
A transformational $5 million commitment from philanthropists Frank and Carol Morsani has cleared the path for a comprehensive healthcare campus on Forest Oaks Boulevard. Premier Community HealthCare Group plans to build an integrated medical facility on county surplus land near the tax collector’s office, following the commission’s unanimous approval of a 99-year ground lease.
The site will bring primary care, mental and behavioral health counseling, clinical nutrition, and a full-service pharmacy together under one roof. Hernando County remains a federally designated provider shortage area, with more than 1,300 residents for every licensed mental health clinician. The completed center is slated to treat more than 15,000 patients each year while adding roughly 70 local healthcare jobs, with Premier now finalizing site development plans.
