High School Students Rally Countywide Groups for Pier-Side Wellness Fair
Seal Beach, CA · October 13, 2026
Watching the morning fog swirl past the pier pilings is reason enough to slow down your first cup of coffee today. Plenty of warm neighborhood activity awaits once the morning haze begins to lift.
The Lead
Navigating the pressures of adolescence has never been simple, but local teenagers are taking community support into their own hands. Oxford Academy sophomore and Seal Beach Leos Club secretary Niharika “Niha” Goel has spearheaded the organizing of the inaugural Thrive: Youth Wellness Fair, bringing regional mental health and student support resources together under one roof.
The peer-led initiative, backed by the local Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club, aims to demystify mental wellness by connecting teens directly with peer mentors and professional guidance before pressures escalate into crisis. Rather than an intimidating clinical setting, the gathering is designed as a relaxed, community-wide fair featuring interactive mindfulness stations, live local musicians, food trucks, and representatives from regional youth coalitions. Student volunteers are finishing logistics and booth layouts this week ahead of the event's debut at Eisenhower Park on October 24.
