A last-minute plea agreement entered in Hardin Circuit Court has brought an unexpected end to the prosecution in a string of 2025 neighborhood shootings. Dante Patterson, 24, had been scheduled to face a jury on Monday morning on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, stemming from gunfire reported in February 2025 along Braxton Court, Skyline Drive, Park Avenue, and Woodcreek Drive. Instead, court officials confirmed the trial was formally remanded following Friday’s guilty plea. For the residents living along those residential blocks, the agreement closes a nineteen-month ordeal without requiring victims and neighbors to endure emotional courtroom testimony. Patterson is scheduled to appear before Judge John Simcoe for formal sentencing on October 27.
