Early Childhood Center Reopens Today After Months of Restoration

Radcliff, KY · August 14, 2026

Friday is here, and local preschool halls are filled with chatter again after months away. Wrap up your morning tasks early — there is plenty happening across the area as we head into the weekend.

The Lead

After eight months in temporary quarters, Radcliff Head Start has officially returned home. The early childhood facility hosted a grand reopening following extensive restoration needed after severe winter weather caused heavy water damage to the building in January. During the rebuild, staff and young learners adapted by operating out of space inside Radcliff Elementary School to ensure classes continued without interruption.

Central Kentucky Community Action Council leaders say the timing could not be better, giving local families a fully restored, dedicated space right in time for the new academic term. The restored building features upgraded classroom fixtures and renewed learning areas, bringing stability back to dozens of local children as the school year gets underway.
