Applications Open Today for Community Police Academy
Radcliff, KY · August 5, 2026
Yellow school buses are making test runs down Lincoln Trail Boulevard this Wednesday morning, giving us a gentle reminder that summer break wraps up tomorrow.
The Lead
Residents looking for an inside view of local law enforcement can now apply for the Radcliff Police Department's annual Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week program, which starts September 8, offers participants hands-on experience with patrol procedures, crime scene investigations, radar operation, and K-9 unit demonstrations.
Classes meet on Monday evenings through November 9 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at department headquarters. Designed to strengthen relationships between officers and community members, the academy gives participants a behind-the-scenes look at daily decision-making on the beat. Registration is free, but enrollment is capped to keep sessions interactive. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and pass a basic background check.
Paper applications are available weekdays at City Hall on West Lincoln Trail Boulevard, with electronic forms accessible through the department's online application portal.
