Promenade Plaza Changes Hands in $67M Neighborhood Deal
Palm Beach Gardens, FL · September 16, 2026
Keep an umbrella resting on the passenger seat this morning. Passing showers might shuffle a few outdoor plans, but there is plenty humming across the neighborhood today.
The Lead
Mount Vernon Company acquired Promenade Shopping Plaza at 9810 Alternate A1A for $66.9 million from Nuveen Real Estate, marking northern Palm Beach County's largest grocery-anchored shopping center transaction in more than five years. The 207,877-square-foot neighborhood retail center, built in 1989 and currently 98 percent leased, traded for $321 per square foot. Anchored by a modern prototype Publix grocery store that was rebuilt and reopened last spring, the center also houses Ace Hardware, Planet Fitness, and an upcoming indoor children's swim school.
Boston-based Mount Vernon financed the transaction through a $35.9 million loan from Beacon Bank as part of an expanding South Florida retail footprint. Company leadership confirmed plans to hold the commercial property indefinitely while maintaining upgraded tenant spaces across the plaza's retail and dining corridors.
