A Permanent Westbank Home for Femme Fatale
New Orleans, LA · October 18, 2026
Crisp morning breezes off the river and completely clear skies mean your porch coffee deserves extra time today. Once you finish your cup, there is plenty rolling across town before the week begins.
The Lead
More than a decade after its founding, the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale is officially establishing permanent roots on the Westbank. Over 150 krewe members and neighborhood supporters gathered at 2350 Cypress Acres Drive to break ground on a multi-use headquarters that will serve as the organization’s long-term home base.
Established in 2013 as an all-female Carnival organization, the krewe has expanded rapidly, yet spent years staging meetings and coordinating logistics across scattered rented spaces. The new facility will centralize administrative operations, float storage, and the group’s year-round community outreach and scholarship initiatives. For a modern krewe whose signature pink and black colors command prime Uptown parade routes each February, putting down brick-and-mortar foundations marks a major milestone. Construction crews are scheduled to begin site prep this coming week, aiming to pour the foundation slab before Carnival season ramps up.
