Intimate Album Premiere Inside the Milking Parlor Today

Nebo, NC · October 4, 2026

A soft autumn drizzle is clinging to the tree line this morning. It makes a quiet Sunday cup—or ducking into an afternoon acoustic set—sound just right.

The Lead

Morganton native and Mipso co-founder Jacob Sharp returns to his home foothills this afternoon to debut his first solo record, Middle Kid, inside The Milking Parlor at Fonta Flora Brewery’s Whippoorwill Farm. Sharp penned much of the project while living in California before devastating wildfires forced an abrupt return East, lending the new songs an unmistakable resonance of homecoming and renewal. Rather than embarking immediately on a conventional national theater tour, Sharp chose intimate regional stops, bringing his melodic, lyrical arrangements directly to local listeners days ahead of the album’s October 9 release. Dreamy indie-folk duo Viv & Riley opens the seated performance at 4:00 PM, followed by Sharp taking the stage at 5:00 PM. Doors open along Highway 126 at 3:00 PM, offering a cozy retreat from today’s overcast mist.
