That crisp 32-degree bite on the porch this morning makes the coffee steam rise fast, but clear skies are taking over the valley by noon.

The Lead

The postseason road just got a whole lot wider for the Tyrone Golden Eagles after a gritty 17-14 fourth-quarter comeback over Penn Cambria on Senior Night at Gray-Veterans Memorial Field. Tyrone entered Friday night battered by a three-game losing streak and fighting simply to stay alive in the District 6 Class 3A playoff race. After three quarters of offensive drought, running back Reid Starr sparked the surge with explosive carries of 38 and 23 yards, setting up a quarterback sneak by Ben Walk. Just minutes later, Walk connected with standout receiver Mason Emigh on a decisive 35-yard touchdown strike with 3:15 left on the clock. The defense sealed the victory with a relentless stand, denying the Panthers on four trips into Tyrone territory. The Golden Eagles now take their 4-4 record on the road to Philipsburg-Osceola this Friday.
