Soccer Royalty Takes Center Stage as Homecoming Week Begins

Kalida, OH · October 6, 2026

Hallway lockers are freshly plastered with banners and green paint as Homecoming Week gets rolling today. Step outside early with an extra layer before that crisp autumn sun warms things up.

The Lead

Homecoming looks a little different around here, where village pride rallies around the soccer pitch rather than a football gridiron. Hallways across the district fill with spirit themes today as students launch a full week of festivities leading into Friday’s clash against Putnam County neighbor Ottoville. District officials recently announced the 2026 senior homecoming court, naming attendants Aubree Sickles, Addilyn Huber, Mallory Kerner, Makenzie Remlinger, and Nicole Siebeneck, alongside Josh Schulte, Adam Bockrath, and Blake Remlinger. Beyond the classroom costume themes and pep assemblies, the celebration brings the entire community out to the touchlines. The coronation of the homecoming king and queen will take place between Friday’s junior varsity and varsity matchups, setting the stage for one of northwest Ohio’s sharpest small-school soccer rivalries.
