Crews are moving dirt and setting up temporary traffic controls along Front Street and State Route 114 as construction ramps up on the village’s newest shared-use path. The project targets a critical pedestrian stretch, extending along Front Street between Main and Second, down Main Street toward Northland Drive, and along Northland Drive itself. Flaggers and temporary signals are maintaining alternating traffic flow through late October while contractors construct the multi-use trail. Local officials designed the path to give walking and biking residents a safe, off-street route connecting residential neighborhoods directly to Kalida High School and local recreation areas. Initial utility clearing is wrapping up this week, with paving scheduled to proceed in sections throughout the coming month.
