A Two-Night Medieval Quest Opens on Cañada Boulevard Tonight
Glendale, CA · October 23, 2026
Friday brings quiet schoolyards with district staff in training, while Cañada Boulevard gears up for an influx of miniature knights and dragons by sundown.
The Lead
What began in 2020 as a drive-through pandemic improvisation named Drive Boo has officially matured into one of the foothills' most intricate grassroots autumn traditions. Tonight and Saturday, the Verdugo Woodlands Dads' Club opens its sixth annual production, transforming its grounds at 1728 Cañada Boulevard into an interactive medieval fortress for "The Prince of Verdugo Castle". Rather than a standard haunted house relying on passive jump scares, the family-focused quest guides children and parents through hidden passageways, puppetry, and theatrical checkpoints to help recover a kidnapped royal heir. Volunteer parents designed and built every turret and mechanical prop over months of weekend work sessions. Proceeds directly support community programming and local elementary school enrichment. Entry runs from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM both nights, with tickets available online before heading toward the post-quest Candy Arcade.
