Revised Plans Filed for Saxony District Hotel

Fishers, IN · September 1, 2026

Stepping into September means cooler mornings are right around the corner, even if the afternoon thermostat disagrees today.

The Lead

Plans for a $16 million boutique hotel in the Saxony district are moving forward after developers filed updated site and architectural designs with the city. The proposed four-story, 124-room Atwell Suites by InterContinental Hotels Group is slated for nearly two acres at the northwest corner of East 134th Street and Olio Road, near IU Health Fishers.

The project faced setbacks in late 2024 when a previous 113-room layout near Erlen and Minden drives was rejected over neighborhood feedback and design aesthetics. Working alongside master developer Republic Development, the updated submission relocates the building and introduces a refreshed exterior featuring brick, porcelain tiling, and two 250-square-foot public art murals selected in partnership with the city. The revised site plan now heads to the Planned-Unit Development Committee for formal review.
