I-69 Weekend Ramp Closures Begin Tonight — Detour Routes Ahead

Fishers, IN · August 22, 2026

Heads up if you are heading south toward Indianapolis this evening — major ramp closures at Interstate 69 start tonight at 9 PM. Between those highway detours and Safety Day at the morning farmers market, there is plenty to navigate.

The Lead

The Indiana Department of Transportation is launching a series of major weekend ramp closures along Interstate 69 starting at 9 p.m. tonight as crews shift traffic onto a new ramp at 82nd Street. The work is part of the ongoing Clear Path 465 project, which aims to improve safety and flow at the major interchange near the city's southern border.

Drivers traveling northbound toward home will face detours: the ramps connecting eastbound I-465, Binford Boulevard, and 82nd Street to northbound I-69 will be closed continuously through 6 a.m. Monday. Official detours route traffic down southbound I-465 to turn around at Pendleton Pike.

INDOT officials report that opening the permanent 82nd Street ramp represents one of the final construction milestones for the corridor, with normal traffic patterns scheduled to resume before Monday morning's commute.
