Traffic Shifts to New US 67 Alignment Beneath Route CC

Festus, MO · October 10, 2026

Tractor engines are firing up along Dry Fork Road as pumpkin season swings into full gear this morning. It is prime territory for a relaxed Saturday stroll before evening breezes bring in cooler air.

The Lead

Drivers navigating the southern end of the county have a new traffic pattern to negotiate this morning. At 6:00 p.m. Friday, Missouri Department of Transportation crews shifted U.S. Route 67 onto its permanent new alignment running directly under the emerging Route CC bridge.

The roadway now funnels through a single lane in each direction along the new pavement while contractors put the finishing touches on the overhead bridge structure. Meanwhile, the bypass ramps that had been shuttling highway travelers around the construction site have been trimmed from two lanes down to one. MoDOT engineers expect this two-lane configuration to hold through the end of the month, paving the way for the Route CC bridge to officially open to motorists in early November.
