Milling and Paving Shifts to Cromwell Under City Program
Festus, MO · September 3, 2026
Take an alternate route if you usually cut through Cromwell today — asphalt milling equipment and road crews have officially moved in.
The Lead
Crews from Jokerst Paving have initiated the next active phase of the municipal 2026 Street Improvements Project, mobilizing heavy milling machinery onto Cromwell. The transition follows the recent completion of extensive concrete curb replacements, surface milling, and fresh asphalt overlays across the adjacent Edgewood neighborhood group.
Contractors are currently cutting out damaged road sections along Cromwell to carry out full-depth pavement repairs before laying a smooth final asphalt surface. City public works staff prioritized the stretch to resolve persistent sub-base settling and localized drainage issues that have challenged neighborhood traffic during heavy rains. Once asphalt overlay wraps on Cromwell, paving equipment will shift directly to the next residential roadway scheduled on this season’s project docket. Motorists should anticipate intermittent single-lane restrictions and flaggers between morning rush hour and late afternoon, with residential driveway access maintained throughout the repairs.
