Low-Interest Loans Arrive for Main Street Facade Repairs
Ferdinand, ID · October 10, 2026
Low gray clouds and a cool mist are settling over the stubble fields this morning, leaving plenty of reason to linger inside before heading down the grade.
The Lead
Main Street storefronts across the prairie have a new path to funding building refreshes and exterior repairs. The Clearwater Economic Development Association launched its Revitalization Investment for Small Enterprises program, rolling out low-interest microloans ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 for commercial property upgrades across Lewis, Idaho, and neighboring counties.
Designed for both property owners and commercial tenants, the funds cover physical improvements including historic masonry repair, new siding, exterior paint, updated commercial signage, lighting, and entry door replacements. Financing features repayment windows spanning two to five years at rates set two percentage points below the national prime rate, paired with an owner matching contribution. For prairie towns where aging downtown facades often demand costly upkeep, the revolving capital helps independent businesses maintain curb appeal without draining cash reserves. CEDA's regional business finance office is currently accepting applications on a rolling intake schedule.
