Hispanic Heritage Fiesta Returns to Runner's Park Today
East Moline, IL · September 13, 2026
Cumin and roasted peppers will be scenting the breeze off 15th Avenue well before noon. Pack a lawn chair and an appetite for a full afternoon at Runner's Park.
The Lead
Downtown streets will come alive today as the 16th Annual LULAC Hispanic Heritage Parade and Fiesta returns to East Moline after pausing last year. Starting at noon, marching units, folkloric performers, and classic cars from the Latin Persuasion club will roll down 15th Avenue from 3rd Street to 10th Street, led by Grand Marshal Mike Reyes. Celebrations continue through 9:00 PM at Runner’s Park with over 40 vendors, authentic street food, and continuous live music, featuring the Glenview Mariachi Band at 1:30 PM and Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico at 6:00 PM. Beyond celebrating culture and community unity, the volunteer-run fiesta directly finances LULAC Council 5285’s higher-education scholarships, which have awarded over $201,000 to local graduates since 2014. Mayor Reggie Freeman takes the stage at 2:25 PM to deliver the official heritage month proclamation.
