Rain is tapping against the glass this morning, but local craft fairs and live stages are running full steam indoors.

The Lead

Following this week’s municipal election, the city council is back at full strength and preparing to tackle an active late-autumn agenda. Voters re-elected Dani O’Halloran to a three-year seat and chose former councilor and state legislator Kevin O’Connell to serve a one-year term, filling the vacant seat created by former Deputy Mayor Bill Kimball’s resignation earlier this year.

Restoring the council to five members brings stability after several months of operating shorthanded during critical decisions, including recent municipal bans and municipal budget planning. Both councilors noted that community outreach, fiscal balance, and municipal services—including addressing recreation maintenance—will sit front and center as the new term begins. The full five-member slate will formally convene at City Hall for its next regular session on Tuesday, November 17.
