East Terry Street Lanes Shift South for Drainage Overhaul

Bonita Springs, FL · October 8, 2026

Give yourself an extra couple of minutes if your commute crosses East Terry Street this morning, where realigned traffic lanes just settled into place. The barrels are snug, but the morning coffee stays warm.

The Lead

Drivers navigating East Terry Street are adjusting to a new traffic pattern between Imperial Parkway and Interstate 75. Earlier this week, crews with contractor Quality Enterprises USA shifted travel lanes to the south side of the roadway, clearing the northern right-of-way for major underground utility work and stormwater pipe installation.

The lane shift marks an active construction phase of the city’s nearly $18 million East Terry Street Stormwater and Multi-Use Pathway Project. Designed to curb chronic neighborhood flooding by directing runoff toward regional waterways like Leitner Creek, the multi-year overhaul will also build a continuous 10-foot multi-use path along the south shoulder and new sidewalks along the north.

Watch for reduced speed limits and barrels between Imperial Parkway and the interstate as heavy excavating equipment works the northern shoulder over the coming weeks.
