Austin’s longest-running arts tradition returns to the shores of Lady Bird Lake this weekend as Fiesta takes over the grounds of the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center. First staged in 1950 as a juried spring art fair, the multi-genre festival now anchors the fall season, bringing more than 40 regional artists, ceramicists, and craftspeople to Rainey Street. The two-day gathering pairs an open-air art market with two stages of live performances spanning indigenous Aztec dance, folklórico, high-energy cumbia, and local headliners like Riders Against the Storm and Bidi Bidi Banda.
