High School Ag Barn Set for Monday Ribbon Cutting
Austin, CO · November 7, 2026
Frost is coating the garden beds this morning, but clear skies and mild sunshine make an easy case for spending the day outside.
The Lead
Cedaredge High School is preparing to open its long-awaited campus agriculture barn, bringing livestock education and animal science directly onto school grounds. For years, students enrolled in agricultural coursework and FFA projects often had to house show animals on family acreage or arrange private boarding across the Surface Creek Valley. The new facility, built following district capital project approvals, provides stalls, grooming stations, and secure pens just steps from the classrooms on Deer Creek Drive. Beyond livestock care, instructors will utilize the space for veterinary science lessons and hands-on agricultural mechanics throughout the winter terms. District administrators and students will gather to cut the ceremonial ribbon on Monday at 1:30 PM, after which FFA members begin moving in equipment for the upcoming show season.
