Catching the low clouds drifting across the mesa is well worth an early cup of coffee today. Keep a warm layer handy whether you are heading out to the Saturday market stands or staying tucked inside out of the damp air.

The Lead

Delta County has published its proposed 2027 budget for community inspection ahead of formal adoption later this season. Following departmental reviews held throughout October, the preliminary spending draft outlines operational funding across county services, capital improvement projects, and road maintenance disbursements through the Highway User Tax Fund. Printed copies are now available for public examination at the County Administration Building in Delta, with full digital copies posted to the county portal. Electors across the valley are invited to review the draft line items and submit feedback or formal objections before commissioners convene for a dedicated public hearing on the morning of Tuesday, November 17. The board plans to take up final adoption at its December 8 regular session.
